John Brown & Co. of Clydebank built the ships that made Clydebuilt a byword for quality: the Lusitania, the Queen Mary and the QE2 all went down its slipways into the Clyde. This box tips its cap to that great yard, with a vintage-style John Brown mark hand-stencilled onto sustainably sourced pine.

Each box is made by hand in our family's workshop in Central Java, by craftspeople we know by name. The grain, the stencil edges and the small tool marks are the point. The XS size is right for keys, jewellery and trinkets: small enough for a windowsill, handsome enough for a mantelpiece.
