This particular Bronze Solar Cross was crafted in the heart of Europe, circa 1100 AD.  It is a lovely homage to the sun and the cycles of the seasons. The bronze has developed a unique patina over the centuries.

Within Viking culture the sun was primarily associated with concepts such as strength, fertility, prosperity, and protection. The sun, as a celestial body, was highly revered in Norse mythology, with the sun goddess Sol (or Sunna) driving the chariot that pulled the sun across the sky.
